These little chaps have been chirping away at each other for the past few days. If I close my eyes while laying out in the garden I could almost believe I was in a far away land.

Die #Stridulation der #Grashüpfer im Garten ist so laut, dass meine Ohren schmerzen, als wäre ich an einem Konzert mit einem #Schalldruckpegel von über 95 dB.

Effektiv messe ich aber nur knapp 50 dB (mit Frequenzbewertung A) mit meinem iPhone.

Gibt es eine Erklärung, warum die gefühlte Lautstärke und die gemessene so stark divergieren bei Grashüpfern?
