The overall situation in Bangladesh is worsening day by day as the national election nears. Although I can now freely speak out against anyone, we still live in constant fear, as parts of the law enforcement agencies are not fully functional, and many appear to be working in the interest of India and the Awami League. It has become difficult to go outside in Dhaka, as you can be robbed in broad daylight.

To suppress the July movement, law enforcement fired a total of 305,311 rounds across the country. Of that, 95,313 rounds were fired in Dhaka alone — not including the military.

The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearance has found prima facie evidence of the involvement of Indian authorities in the system of enforced disappearance in Bangladesh.
In its first interim report titled Unfolding the Truth submitted to chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday, the commission stated that it came to the conclusion after recording statements of victims, their families and members law enforcement agencies.
