The merit in #blockchain is transparency, #decentralization, #dataownership, and #sovereignidentity.

These new innovations could enable users to actively protect themselves from digital oligarchs.

My pragmatism comes from the fact that our current systems built around fiat aren't really that much more "real" or stable or trustworthy – they are just backed by our tax dollars if they fail.
