Listen to "when commons become the seeds" (my attempt to make sense of reading theory by combining theoretical enquiry with sonic essaying and embodied learning techniques).
For Zemljani/Earthlings at Šumski Univesitet/Forest University, we prepared an audio mixtape specifically conceived alongside the gatherings' theme of "Conviviality" and its site at Fruška Gora National Park, with its vast forest. I worked with @puschmann.bsky.social who began his musical journey in the early 1990s and has recently evolved to create sonic ambient journeys for restoration, regeneration and healing.
When playing the mixtape, I used two microphones: one to capture place-based sounds within the forest and attune to its sonority; and the other to enable a live reading of a text collage in six chapters combining theoretical perspectives on the commons, convivial living, and technologies. I closed the session with a guided yoga nidra.
