@Nickiquote @cstross I still see AI as a refinement of the Infinite Monkey Theorem which is silent on the volume of bananas required or poop generated (energy and CO2 emissions for AI)

Sadly politicians see it as a solution to productivity rather than training for humans. There are good uses for it (pattern spotting on X-rays etc), but it's no panacea much in the same way Brexit wasn't.

Good god... I just saw an ad for a service that will help you unsubscribe from stuff you subscribed to but do not remember having subscribed to.

Look at your frigging bank statements. See what's on there and cancel the things you do not want.

It is this easy.

I'm not going to link to this service or mention its name, but some questions:

1. Do I need to subscribe to your service for it to tell me what I should unsubscribe from? If yes, to you see the irony?

2. What information do you gather about us?

3. Are you in bed with the various services we should be unsubscribing from? I can easily see you find excuses to not report this or that service. Or find reasons to tell us that we "really should keep" a service we want to cancel.
