I do disagree since #AppleSilicon-based #Macs don't have a seperate #Flash for the #Apple-#EFI & #BridngeOS so when the #Flash dies they are a braindead brick and since Apple went #ThinkDifferent they chose to use #SolderedDown, #proprietary Flash ICs so one can neither obtain these nor reflash them without access to Apple's proprietary tools that not even #AASP|s can get their hands on legally.
@Gammitin it's propably easier to fix than any shitty #SolderedDown #SSD these days...
This was way before manufacturers used custom chips and decided to be #AntiRepair - Assholes...
You might still need schematics of a working drive to reverse-engineer to correct parts from...
@EU_Commission sadly, you failed to also mandate an actual #RightToRepair by forcing companies to provide discrimination-free access to parts and bannning #PlannedObsolescence per design in the form of #SolderedDown SSDs, RAM & glued-in batteries since those WILL INEVITABLY FAIL OVER TIME AND USE!

@nixCraft And even if the #SSD is completely f**ked (and because #Apple is #AntiRepair, it's #solderedDown!) one can still use it as a #LowPower system for running @tails / #Tails or even @ubuntu #UbuntuLTS from an external SSD.

Worse are only #AntiRepair designs like #GluedIn - #Batteries [or #DRM in #Batteries!], #SolderedDown #RAM and espechally #SolderedIn-#SSDs.
Both batteries and SSDs will INEVITABLY FAIL OVER TIME!!!
This is why I refuse to buy products that don't allow me to fully replace RAM & Storage and don't allow me toolfree removal and swapping of batteries!
