#BRBIt boots into my BeOS 5 prepped CF card and seems to work well.
It's got some cool things onboard:
Video: S3 ProSavage
LAN: RTL8100BL, with MS-DOS drivers
Audio: Avance ALC201A, again with dos drivers.
Lots to test out!
Well that was time well spent, but it'll need a bit of testing. So far so good! π
Hold on to your butts, let's give it a test! π¬
Ok, I'm done.
Caveat: I do not know if the board even works (outside the capacitor issues), but as it's a Tualatin board I want to at least try to bring it back to life. π€
This capacitor is supposed to be 1500uF, not only is now showing as 482.8uF, look at the Vloss π¬
It's been very hot here and the board is now bone dry, so I decided to start the recapping job. I don't have a desoldering station, so I did it the old fashioned way.
All cleaned up and left to dry out.
The caps need sorting, extremely weak audio output from this, also it's quite dirty.
Another repair I'll be doing at the same time is this:
Kentech KJD-MUSIC16 ISA Soundcard
Based on Crystal CX4236, it supports Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro (stereo too), and Windows Sound System (we won't talk about the horrific Adlib implementation π)
