Space and Time magazine is recruiting First Readers to help out with an overabundance of submissions. Reading slush for them is pretty easy. You read at your own pace by self-selecting stories twice a year. They use Duotrope to collect submissions. This is for speculative fiction, generally 3,000 words or less.
Their First Readers also submit their own work to the magazine calls (and also know in advance when they have special calls). Reading slush is a great way to improve your own work by seeing what works and what doesn’t. This is a volunteer position but they try to offer perks as much as they can.
