¿Who’s inside this webbed capsule?

I found this abandoned egg sac, and I’m almost certain it belongs to a Salticid.

But Salticidae is a huge family... so WHO exactly is inside?

My guess, based on the shape, location, and local species, is Astia maculata.

But it could just as easily be Servaea, Clynotis, Apricia… or someone unexpected...

I’m really excited to find out 🐣👀

My daughter just rushed into my office all excited and jumping up and down...her #PhidippusRegius that has been sitting on an egg sac for a few weeks now finally has little babies running around the nest.

Dude, that's *a lot* of #slings. I think the number of #spiders in our house just quadrupled....or more (and we had quite a few pet spiders to begin with).
