Rugeley shooters top County Championship

Rugeley shooters topped the Staffordshire Short Range Championships this weekend, winning all three classes and three of four trophies..

Held for the first time since 2019, the Short Range Championships took place at Rugeley Rifle Club, making use of the club’s large indoor range.

Topping the leader board, Richard Hemingway won A-class and the Overall County Short-Range Championship. Steve Breeze finished second overall.

Phoebe Houghton won B-Class and also the Cliff Everall Memorial Cup for top Junior.

Deb Truman won C-Class and narrowly won the Col. N.C. Joseph Cup for top Lady, having tied with Phoebe on 377/400 but having the better count-back score.

Ian Abbotts of City of Stoke Rifle Club won the Veterans Tankard for top Veteran.
