Following a "historic development" by its Supreme Court, Sri Lanka appears to be moving toward decriminalizing homosexuality.
Under current law, which dates back to British rule of what was then Ceylon, persons convicted of homosexuality in the South Asian country face the possibility of jail. There has been talk of change in Sri Lanka's parliament as early as 2022.
