If you deal with max. 100m and want to get fast connectivity for many machines on a low budget, then that's the only option.

Where #SinglemodeFiber should be used is for #FTTB / #FTTH installations, instead of crappy #GPON, which is a #SharedMedium like #DOCSIS on #coax #cable! If it was my decision, #Ethernet-based Single-Mode Fiber like 10GBase-BX10 would be the the bare minimum mandated by law.
