Robyn Woof, Trans and Non-Binary Liberation Officer, has resigned from her positions at Edinburgh University following the appointment of Simon Fanshawe as Rector.

Adding to this thread a very helpful point raised by @PamCrossland - many student elections have the option to Re-Open Nominations (RON).
Sounds just like what this needs - the option to vote on a candidate, even if there's only one, and seek other nominations if they aren't suitable. There's a whole heap of student-politics precedence.
Fanshawe should face such a process, and it should be the process going forward.
