I never twigged that this song from the 1964 album called ‘Wednesday Morning, 3am’ is called The Sounds of Silence.

There is another version from 1966 called The Sound of Silence (singular sound). Confusingly it’s the first track on the album The Sounds of Silence. It’s a different recording with electric guitar.

I like the 1964 acoustic version more, I think.

So, I've been a fan of #SimonAndGarfunkle nigh on my entire life. My angsty lonely teenage poetry was all just riffing on "I Am A Rock". I don't think I can say anything negative about Simon and Garfunkle.

That said, #Disturbed's cover of #TheSoundOfSilence is POWERFUL. I'm sorry, Paul. I'm sorry, Art. Your song is great, don't get me wrong. But Disturbed found a way to improve upon it and take it to a whole other level.
