One nice detail of the #UEC #cyclocross #EuroChamps in #Silvelle, Italy was the added diversity within the freshly crowned winners: the men's under23 race was won by Frenchman Mickael Crispin, and the women's under23 race was won by Dutch rider Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. Honestly great to see #cycling become less white and more diverse.

As for the course in #Silvelle: That really was lame, no elevation changes, hardly any challenging off-cambers and a sandbox that almost all riders could master. Hard to make a difference on such a course in #cyclocross, so this gave Belgium an even bigger advantage to profit from their power in numbers. They certainly tried, but van der Poel had too much class to succumb to them. #EuroChamps

The speed has come down in the men's elite #cyclocross #EuroChamps, and a group of Belgian riders is catching up with the lead trio of van der Poel, Vanthourenhout and Iserbyt. That's not good for the Dutch favourite: Too many riders to keep in check and block his lines, better attack hard! One and a half laps to go in #Silvelle.

After a distance of only 11.7kms, Yara Kastelijns crosses the finish line in #Silvelle as the new elite women's #cyclocross #EuroChamps winner in a time of 41min05. Lechner gets silver at 12secs, Worst the bronze at 26secs, Maud Kaptheijns grabs 4th at 1:09. Verdonschot 5th, Cant 6th and Arzuffi in 7th.
