Wealthy, intelligent, or prominent individuals will act intentionally dim on social networks either for popularity/commerce, distraction from real issues, or to mitigate being used themselves (ads), but if that's most of what we see the only lesson is to exploit yourself or that social networks are insignificant, even if they have the power to sway public thought & election results.
