I mean, obvious stuff like dog shit on the street, I don't poke at, just "not run of the mill" shit in the wilds.

If I see rabbit pellets in the vineyards, I'ma poke at 'em to see what it's been eating. Owl/raptor pellets are fun, too.

Wait. In Montana, I did poke at stuff that looks like dog shit when I was in the back woods. There was a goodly chance it could be bear or cat, but it always seemed to be dog shit.

Anyway, I often think about animal poop, and poke it with a stick when I run across it, getting up close and personal. I like to know who's shitting in my neck of the wilds!
