Ah, this movie is as good as I remember it. While I love campy Godzilla movies, I love this one for taking itself seriously and for returning to its allegorical roots.
I also love that while it has a lot of criticism and mockery, it also acknowledges the impossibility of the moral dimensions of the problems being faced. They even lampshade a trolley problem in a way that manages to be both kind of silly and very serious.
Seeing it on the big screen was really a treat!
My absolute favorite thing was hearing the roar of #Gojira . There's nothing like it.
There's a lot of amazing imagery in this film, but there are also some incredibly disturbing images which have unfortunately continued to pop into my brain, so that part hasn't been fun.
A terrific film in the pantheon of the #Godzilla series. #ShinGodzilla 2/2
