Attorneys for Harris County and its sheriff argue they weren’t responsible for outsourced jail inmate’s death

The family of Jaleen Anderson, a 29-year-old man who died at a private Louisiana jail facility after being outsourced from Harris County, filed a federal lawsuit earlier this year against the county, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and the LaSalle Correctional Center.

Houston attorney accused of smuggling over 150 drug-laced papers into the Harris County Jail

Authorities say 77-year-old defense attorney Ronald Lewis allegedly delivered papers laced with ecstasy and synthetic marijuana to incarcerated people during multiple in-person visits at the Harris County Jail. Lewis was arrested last Friday.
