My preference for aperture grille over shadow mask technology cannot be overstated. Once I purchased my first aperture grille CRT in the early '90s (a 17-inch Nokia 447Xi with Trinitron tube), I never went back.
(And I still have one that I use daily, my Sony CPD-G420.)
