First time I’ve visited #SewerbyParkrun. Nice route along the seafront and through the grounds of #SewerbyHall. Very much a mixed surface, with asphalt, grass, and wood chipping.

Lots going on there today as well! A medieval reenactment and a kite festival! Weather turned out nice as well! The only thing that would have made it better would have been a sub 30 time… but alas, not today.

Back in time to September 2019.....

Sewerby Hall is a grand Georgian mansion located just outside Bridlington, East Yorkshire, known for its rich history, beautifully restored interiors, and scenic coastal setting. Built in 1714 and later expanded in the 19th century, it’s one of the area’s most popular historical sites and visitor attractions.

It offers something for everyone, from history and gardens to wildlife and stunning coastal scenery.

Here are the last of the fabulous 'brick' sculptures we saw whilst visiting Sewerby: Gorilla & Lion, topped off with a bit of the parkland just in front of the fore shore.

Sewerby Hall is sits on a cliff top with spectacular views over Bridlington and is set in 50 acres of 19th Century parkland. The gardens at side of the hall hold many wonderful plants and trees, including fantastic specimens of the Monkey Puzzle Tree (Araucaria araucana), which is one of my favourite trees. It always amazes me how hard the 'leaves' are on the tree and the fractal design of the structure shows once again how wonderful nature is.

Visitors to Sewerby can enjoy a tranquil walk through the gardens or take a stroll along the Woodland Walk to discover hidden delights nature has to offer.

I must admit though that second photo looks a little on the naughty side…….

Sewerby is surrounded by award-winning gardens and woodland that offer a variety of sights, smells, and sounds throughout each of the four seasons.

The gardens include the Walled, Pleasure, and Rose Gardens that take centre stage throughout the summer months. In early autumn the Daleks can be seen sprouting in the beds, preparing no doubt for a winter invasion :)
