È la versione fornita oggi dalla presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, nell’Aula del Senato durante la replica al dibattito seguito alle sue comunicazioni nel Medio Oriente e sul prossimo Consiglio Europeo. Il tema era stato sollevato da Matteo Renzi che a sua volta ha replicato. “L’allineamento è quando abbassi il costo della benzina e aumenti il gasolio, o viceversa. C’è un particolare. Io ho letto la Legge di Bilancio – afferma il leader di Italia Viva – che dice che ci sono più di 500 milioni di maggiori entrate e da qui al 2032 ci sono 2 miliardi e 400 milioni di maggiori entrate. Voi non avete allineato le accise, voi avete aumentato le accise e oggi venite a dire a noi che il problema è dobbiamo lavorare insieme per evitare l’aumento dei costi. Le avreste allineate se non ci fosse stato l’articolo 30 della Legge di Bilancio”

It’s disingenuous to say that we increased excise duties on fuels; we aligned them because we had a commitment that the previous governments, the previous governments, had among the objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. This is the version provided today by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in the Senate Chamber during her response to the debate following her communications in the Middle East and ahead of the next European Council. The issue had been raised by Matteo Renzi, who in turn responded. “Alignment is when you lower the cost of gasoline and increase diesel, or vice versa. There’s a particular thing. I read the Budget Law – states the leader of Italia Viva – that says there are more than 500 million in increased revenue and, up to 2032, there are 2 billion and 400 million in increased revenue. You didn’t align the excise duties, you increased them and today you come to tell us that the problem is we have to work together to avoid cost increases. You would have aligned them if there hadn’t been article 30 of the Budget Law.”
