I grew up with a very unstable mother, and family in general. I’m a late diagnosed autistic, which made me even more vulnerable to the abuse my mother put me through. After an occurrence that I couldn’t deny was abuse, I told my dad (they had been divorced for years). The next day, a detective showed up at my school, inevitably excusing what happened. She thought I reported her, so in turn, kicked me out at the age of 12.

Like a lot of lonely, traumatized kids, the biggest thing I can credit to saving my life is music, and this combined with my love of singing is why I make music. (I’d love it if you check it out! I don’t have much yet, but I’m hoping to release an album once I have a place to call home!)

I’ve been struggling with depression, as a side effect from the complex ptsd I developed, for as long as I can remember. I also have chronic pain issues that I’ve never been able to get care for, or diagnose, except endometriosis.

I’ve dealt with housing insecurity for 11 years; jumping between family’s homes, friends’ apartments, and in homes of practical strangers, just desperate to stay alive most of the time, while combating mental illness and chronic pain.

Life happens, but without humanity, without community, we sink.

I was fortunate enough to find someone that loves me, despite how much I struggle. But, of course, her struggles mirror mine, because who else could better understand and love a trans, traumatized autistic than another trans, traumatized autistic..

As you might be able to imagine, we are lucky to have each other, and our 2 cats, Max and Lenny, but without government support or the ability to get & hold ”normal” jobs, we are barely surviving. This is why we need your help.
