Leavitt no longer pretends that there is a truth. Hence her calmness: she just performs an obvious routine operation, like a faithless priest doing the rites without believing. Spicer still felt the pain of contradicting the truth, hence his intense anger.

Spicer was, in a painful way, watchable. Leavitt is boring.
