The SeaMonkey® Project

@moses_izumi @joel

I think I tried #SeaMonkey once when it first came out, and it was a nice blast from the past to the original Mozilla days. ;)

Haven't tried it in a long time.

Oh dang, SeaMonkey came out in 2006?!? So my nostalgia was maybe 6-7 years old at the time.

lol

GenXers like me are so completely lost in time 🤣

Acá comento cuáles he ido probando, mi experiencia y con cuáles me quedé.

Vietnam Today’s website is surprisingly usable here in #PaleMoon and #SeaMonkey despite being pretty much a very modern web application (in look and feel at least, hell their About page is a damn PDF document loaded with a WebGL PDF viewer lol). The television channel was just established last year (2025) which is why I’m surprised. There are still a few CSS quirks (like the live video not scaled properly, but it’s still viewable) here and there but they’re not fatal like requiring an ES2025 feature without fallback.

Kudos to #Vietnam’s webdevs for not being obsessed with chasing Google’s shiny new features I guess!

@samuelFRDE It's Wordpress that made the update that messed up things that had always worked in Seamonkey ;-) Maybe they are not using WWW standards? Seamonkey is known to respect standards from the begining.

So apparently, anti-bot filters are seeing #seamonkey as an AI agent. This means that the only AI blocker that seamonkey can get through now is #anubis , since the other ones don't even make an attempt at checking if you're legit

Also, I didn't hear codeberg switching to iocaine from anubis, they seem to have done that quietly

Wordpress just fucked me! Since the update to v. 6.9 I can no longer manage my sites with my usual browser, Seamonkey! 😡 Lots of TypeErrors and SyntaxErrors at the console. All of them seem related to Javascript.
