I propose combining Firefox and Thunderbird into one program and adding some extra features, specifically an SFTP/FTP client, RSS reader, ActivityPub client, Torrent client, and maybe some others.

The goal is to make it easy to use the open web. Users will not have to find an RSS reader and switch apps. The browser can replace the homepages provided by other services. All of these are protocols that interlink to each other, so they fit neatly together.

Firefox and Thunderbird already support
* websites
* email
* PDFs
* video and audio playback
* calendar and tasks (CalDAV)
* contacts (CardDAV)
* chats (IRC, XMPP, and Matrix) (yes, Thunderbird supports these!)
