@65_percenter How do we as end users (technical or not) make informed choices as to the security of a given browser?
Is Helium more or less secure than unGoogled Chromium.
Is unGoogled Chromium more or less secure than Chromium.
Is Chromium more or less secure than Chrome.
Is LibreWolf more or less secure than Firefox.
How do SeaMonkey, Waterfox and Palemoon compare to what their parent project has become.
All rhetorical I guess.
Some time ago Mozilla decided that tabs had to be on top.
I still know where I want my tabs, and it still disturbs me that the tabs are in the wrong place.
I have just spent a peaceful retro hour or so browsing with Palemoon. Tabs in the right spot and coloured icons to ease the stress on my ageing eyes.
Just like SeaMonkey.
Why do "UX experts" these days have to constantly keep reminding us older folk that we cannot have what we need?

Catch of the Day: The Operating System of the Future That Stayed in the Past! 🐝💻
Hey Retro Fans!
Today, we get to celebrate a very special guest in the FrogFind logs. A user found their way to us using the SeaMonkey browser on BeOS!
For those who weren't active in the tech scene in the late 90s: BeOS was the absolute dream of every power user. It was written from scratch by former Apple developers and specifically optimized for multimedia and true multitasking on multiprocessor systems. It was incredibly fast, stable, and featured a beautiful user interface.
In fact, in late 1996, Apple was very close to buying BeOS to use it as the foundation for the new Mac OS. If that deal had gone through, the computer world would look completely different today! (Apple ultimately chose NeXTSTEP instead and brought Steve Jobs back).
The fact that this technical masterpiece still lives on and is maintained in the retro community today (both the original and its open-source successor, Haiku), and that someone is using it to visit the Frog pond, is a huge honor for us.
May multitasking always be with you!

Well I had to delete seamonkey because I couldn't configure the email. Then I did the same with claws mail.
Back to thunderbird I guess.
Dear Friends of Browsers,
#EasyOS #Linux comes with degoogled Chrome and Firefox. Not sure how really degoogled they are? Also includes Mozilla #Seamonkey for #HTML editing as well as browsing. I added the latest Firefox and added #PrivacyBadger and #Ublock lite. Also added #Vivaldi
I can also run these in containers (sandboxes)
How many browsers do you need?
None are perfect and we all have familiars. I find small browsers such as Dillo not up to my needs.
Because Vivaldi is European. Decided to make it default. I wonder if I can get on with it this time. Tried it many times. Like its speed but never settled on Vivaldi...
