I've had a very successful Cub Scout night recently and thought I would share the program if anyone fancies having a go.

* Red Hill Night Walk *
We did a short 2.5km hike, planned and led by a senior Cub. We stopped every now and then to learn a few things. There are lots of notes in the program to share with Cubs.

We included an interactive Jungle Book story with about 12 cubs - On the Trail of White Hood (10 min). We also invested a 4 Cubs at the summit.

The program is 1 hour 45 min.

I volunteered for the Cub Scouts Cuboree Archery activity this weekend at Camp Cottermouth, Canberra.

It was tough standing out on the open-air range in windy 27 degrees but watching kids' faces light up as they 'thunk' that arrow into the target is totally worth it.

Archery, Rogaining, Abseiling, Kayaking were just some of the activities on offer for the Cub Scouts with 300+ other Cubs.

Great job Scouts ACT!

PS.
I didn't join Scouts Archery Group Australia (SAGA) because I'm a good archer but so that kids have the opportunity to do it. But by the end of the weekend, I'd had a bit of practice.

I won't show you pictures of the Cubs but attached are some pictures of the setup and my final shoot.

I spent the weekend at an Advanced Leader Training course. 18+ hours of face-to-face training packed into two days!

We covered difficult conversations, project planning, personal development, activity risks, balanced programs, adventurous activities, spirituality and much more...

I'm feeling inspired and galvanised by the training and am very keen to finish my project and get my Wood Beads!
