A substantial new book presenting the visual works of artist and musician Brian McFie, along with English & French texts.
Can't be many books with back cover commendations by both Sam Ainsley and Fay Fife.
A found page providing the floorplan for the original Transmission Gallery in Chisholm Street #Glasgow 40 years ago.
During 1986 the inner "exhibition area 2" (actually a walled-in cobbled lane) began to be used for performance, notably across a couple of days by Stuart Brisley, and then so did the basement.
On until the end of January, FRAGILE is the 2nd exhibition by Andrew Radford hung in the Custom Lane exhibition space in Leith.
Creating art from found materials, his work doesn’t shout at you about consumerism and waste but invites you through craft and delicacy and colour and texture, to quietly ask questions of yourself. Tiny acts of cutting and layering addressing a global storm. Heart lifting and beautiful, you should visit. #scottishart #contemporaryart
Visited Adam Geary's "Utopia" exhibition at #Dunfermline Carnegie Library Gallery yesterday.
Recalling his exhibition "The promise of tradition" at Transmission in Glasgow back in 1987, it is good to see a creator developing their project over the long term, especially outside the major cities.
Also good to see engagement by the young in Utopia given space in the far gallery.

Five years of the Narture project in #Ayr This weekend they have their RISE Festival: "a vibrant celebration of food, art, and community spirit"
Like FireStationCreative in #Dunfermline Narture is a great example of what can be achieved by focussed individuals outwith the major cities.

Celebration of a decade of #FireStationCreative in #Dunfermline tonight.
20+ artists' studios, a cafe/bar, 125 visual arts exhibitions, over 1000 musical performances over the decade.
Too often, projects fall into excess focus on capital outlay for flashy redesigns and then fail to sustain. By contrast, the Fire Station, achieving a strong reconstruction through local initiative and effort, has thrived.
