LAB CHRONICLE #27
- Experimental method -

Scenario: compare different liquids to explore the #LeidenfrostEffect.

Ambition: clean results, sharp table, publishable conclusions.

Reality: 5 liquids, 3 plates, 0 consistency & lab smells like hot vinegar.

Conclusion: If a liquid surprises you, maybe you’re on the right track.

Just been swimming. Was exercising in the hydro pool post laps when a woman comes over to chat with the floaters in the hydro pool. Floaters just turn up to chit chat, they're not exercising. She goes on about someone having had a Covid shot and the next thing they know that person's in a ambulance.

🙄

Cue the antix vaxx idiocy. One guy says he's not getting another covid vaxx. He'd had covid twice and it wasn't so bad so there's no need for vaccination.

🙄

Not sure if folks here have been discussing the goofy #AI 'natural sciences' paper currently under review but just ran across an updated version ('retracted' added atop) the two hilarious illustrations.

The first shows an unnaturally enormous rat penis (attached to said rat). The second is a bio-style design of a supposed bio function but is actually a computer component.

Most of the labels are not real words at all, common or scientific. 😂😂😂

I saw this going around, and I just want to caution people maybe not to take too seriously the results of a survey of people who answered yes to, “I share information on social media about politics even though I believe it may be false,” and express a propensity to causing chaos. They also probably feel pretty free to share false information and cause chaos on a self-reported survey, too.

Using a 2022 U.S. survey, we found that 14 percent of respondents reported knowingly sharing misinformation, and that these respondents were more likely to also report support
