🖤 VELVET DARKNESS IN A GLASS 🖤

Meet the legend: Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout – a rich, full-bodied classic that hits with layers of dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, licorice, and a hit of freshly brewed coffee.

It’s not just a beer. It’s a bold nightcap. A slow sip by candlelight. A conversation starter.

🎩 Crafted in England. Poured like royalty.

⚡️ Sip it slow. Taste every shadow.

Changing things up, we are checking out some Imperial Stout by @samuelsmithsbrewery. Full disclosure we tried this before, but without looking at the bottle date, had a poor experience. So, this is a bit of do-over for us.
Out of the bottle, Imperial Stout produces a hefty amount of khaki-tan head, resting on a pool of darkness. Receding, there remains a crown of lacing inside the glass, resting on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of dark fruit, dark chocolate, licorice, and freshly brewed coffee.
Sipping, many of those flavors (or flavours) carry over, along with notes of roasted malt, and a creamy finish. Overall, Imperial Stout has a medium - strong mouthfeel, very noticeable alcoholic warmth, and a slickness on the palate.

Wowee, yesterday was 93F, today it’s 61F and rainy. What a variety of weather we have!

That reminds me of a #samuelSmiths variety pack and one remaining Oatmeal #stout

Creamy, smooth, and malty with a hint of yeast and sweetness.

Big steaks and stouts last night so a lighter dinner and a lighter beer tonight.

#samuelSmiths Organic Pale Ale

Malty with a light hop flavor and the yeasty finish I expect from the Tadcaster brewing methods

Ever feel like an IT porter, just carrying the same knowledge back and forth but never getting much done? Some weeks…

Oh well, time for a #samuelSmiths Taddy Porter - *THAT* I can finish!

Malty dark lead with a medium body and a yeasty tangy closer.

July 5th party at another friend's place and what to my wondering eyes should appear next to all the American beer?

#samuelSmiths Nut Brown Ale in cans!

A repeat of yesterday, but a nice touch in a sea of pale light lagers. Nutty, light and malty, a nice refresher for a warm humid evening.

Not quite #stouturday but thank you, I will have another!

Moving into dinner mode, an amazing spread of smoked meats and shared dishes to dig into.

Compliment with a #samuelSmiths Nut Bown Ale. Nutty and slightly sweet, perfect with pork and beef and turkey and hot dogs

Happy 4th!

Headed to Europe next week so I should tap some #stout from across the pond

#samuelSmiths Imperial Stout is a bit outside my usual style. Malty and VERY yeasty, hints of coffee and a licorice finish. Not for everyday but I do keep coming back for more!

Bleh, the weather is back to cold and rainy with a bit of hail this morning. Hanging indoors with the puppy, having my fingers chewed off…

Keeping warm with a Taddy Porter from #samuelSmiths

Malty dark lead with coffee notes and a tangy finish from the yeast.
