Playing live this Sunday... Canute's Plastic Army!
Their musical style is rooted in folk but has influences from ambient soundscapes and the blues, building immersive environments that hold audiences’ attention and evoke strong emotional connections. Canute’s production is a unique twist on folk, not to be missed.
Live music is scheduled to start at 2pm. Entry is FREE to all!
Here's another of Andy's kit computers, the Nascom 1. I'd heard about it at the time, but was surprised to learn from Andy that it was a British computer. The name sounds so American to me.
Here's Andy Collins of https://www.randomorbit.co.uk/ and one of his selection of kit computers, the Compukit UK 101.
(See the alt text on each image for lots more context. That's my thing, when I include images.)
I pulled all kinds of horrified faces when Andy told me he'd given a popular code slop generator a very generic prompt to "write a short BASIC program which produces interesting patterns", but he was unrepentant. I forgave him. Just this time.
Long overdue, some more snaps from #Retrofest2026 #Swindon!
First, a wide shot to establish the overall vibe:
