Well, man discovered
the park bench
can make a transition
And the rubbish tip
makes a valid form
of nutrition

With discoveries like these,
civilisation agrees
To give itself
a pat on the back

Props to #Swindon Borough Council for turning up as scheduled to remove the large sign blocking motorists' view of our lovely museum and preparing to add a new pedestrian walkway, plus a dropped kerb to our side entrance!

I'm booked in for #RetrofestSwindon 2026! Can't wait!

It's also another chance to visit the fantastic Museum of Computing.

I'll fly into Bristol and take the train. I'm looking forward to it!

RetroFest UK - 2026

It's the last couple of days of the #FestivalOfTomorrow and we're at STEAM, making seed snails.

It's been great to see so many families engaging in the activities on offer from so many different groups.

A passenger who suffered a cardiac arrest on a train has been reunited with the rail staff who helped save his life. Ian Drewry, 69, collapsed while travelling from #Swindon to #London #Paddington on 14 September last year as the service approached #Reading. A fellow passenger raised the alarm and a doctor on board began CPR while another called 999. Train Manager Veronika Rogers alerted the driver and control teams to ensure the train was held at Reading, where staff including dispatchers Jack McIntyre and Michael Lamb brought a defibrillator and cleared the platform. Emergency services took over and Mr Drewry was later taken to hospital, where he recovered. He returned to Reading to thank rail workers, Network Rail and ambulance crews for their swift response.

Someone's left a bag at the museum, get in touch if it's yours.

Not actually my first Lesser Celandines of the year, but the first to be both fully open and not being rained on at the time. On a road verge in #Swindon yesterday. #WildflowerHour #Wiltshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography
Alder catkins at #CoateWater in #Swindon yesterday. Glad I saw these, as there were very few birds. Possibly the good weather after a long period of rain, meaning lots of people around, had scared the birds off. #WildflowerHour #Wiltshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

The museum's faithful friend, Royston Cartwright, has called our attention to the fact that the museum and our grand design has made the local paper!
