The feelings outlined by #teachers in #StTammany parish are similar to those I’ve heard from teachers across #Louisiana. There are tough cultural issues that will need to be addressed, but this quote highlights the core of the issue:

“They are told what to teach, when to teach it, and how to teach it.”

Why do we expect parents and students to respect #educators when the state doesn’t trust them to do their jobs?

Is morale improving among St. Tammany school employees? Latest survey hints maybe.

Morale among St. Tammany Parish public school employees has taken a hit, a recent survey of the school district's employees union shows.

#StTammany #PublicLibrary is introducing policies to push back on excessive book banning requests. Having received over 200 requests in the last year, many of which are for the same books, the library board has decided that results of any book review will stand for 5 years.

Some residents don’t think this goes far enough, proposing that too many failed requests to review from the same person should result in a financial penalty.
