The feelings outlined by #teachers in #StTammany parish are similar to those I’ve heard from teachers across #Louisiana. There are tough cultural issues that will need to be addressed, but this quote highlights the core of the issue:

“They are told what to teach, when to teach it, and how to teach it.”

Why do we expect parents and students to respect #educators when the state doesn’t trust them to do their jobs?
