The finding in #Stelvio National Park, near the Swiss border, consists of thousands of fossilized footprints more than 200 million years old. The tracks, some of them stretching for hundreds of yards, are so well preserved that marks of toes and claws are visible.

Paleontolodzy odkryli tysiące odcisków dinozaurów na niemal pionowej ścianie skalnej w Parku Narodowym Stelvio w Alpach Retyckich na północy Włoch.

Ślady powstały w miękkim mule, który z czasem przekształcił się w skałę, a ruchy płyt tektonicznych sprawiły, że dawne dno laguny zostało wypiętrzone i dziś tworzy niemal pionową ścianę skalną.

Według ekspertów ślady zostały pozostawione przez stada długoszyich roślinożerców, najprawdopodobniej plateozaurów.
