Feeling unseasonably mild this afternoon on a wander this around Roker in Sunderland.
It might have been overcast, but temperatures were nudging 18°C, which for 5 November is positively balmy.
For those unfamiliar with corner of North East England, this is a view across the North Dock Marina, a parking space for small leisure and a fishing boat or two.
Always remember the day I photographed round-the-world yachtsman Chay Blyth, CBE, when he paid a visit to Roker to officially open the new £1 million marina – seems like yesterday, but in fact it was around 25 years ago!

"On 2 May, the Times reported 7000-8000 workers at one strike meeting. Enter Rocker, who had spent years trying to entice the Jewish garment workers of Whitechapel to properly unionise. The East Enders had long been seen as scabs – indeed they were already taking up the work not being done by the striking West End tailors. But on 8 May, Rocker spoke before 8000 at a hall in Whitechapel, with 3000 in the street outside. A vote was taken, and two days later 13,000 workers walked out – it was the biggest East End strike since 1889."
