I found an exploit! Drinking two temporary STR+1 potions gives you +1 STR permanently: Once the buff expired, only one STR point is removed. I learned this by accident because I ran into Dork Yung and selected two red potions by accident.
I'm now at the exit to level 6 with 5 STR.
