Here's my plan to address high grocery prices. We need to challenge the grocery oligopoly ourselves. I propose we start making cooperative grocery stores. Cooperative Corporations can still sell shares, it's that all members get to vote equally , regardless of the number of shares they have.

Shenanigans, shenanigans are happening, I guarantee it.

Of course, that's my opinion.

So I just stopped by my local independent grocery because I know I like the discounts. I know we're supposed to be boycotting it, but see this sign here: we're bringing you a new store. This store will be closing as of July 6th and re-opening as a No Frills on July 11th.

So I said to the cashier, "Hey, I see you guys are switching over again, gonna be a No Frills soon," and he's like,

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

I said, "Everybody keeping their job?" and he's like,

"Well... kind of. They gave us the option, but what's messed up is that for some reason we're going from a unionized job to a non-unionized job."

And I said, "Oh, there's some shenanigans.

What does your union rep have to say about that?" and they're like, "Oh, apparently they don't think it's a big deal at all." Like, how is that even legal? Shenanigans. Shenanigans are happening.

The #Roblaws debacle is simple: either #cdnpoli regulates in a way that we can all eat on minimum salary, or we might have to consider going back to something that’s more like #eattherich.

Maybe it would also bear repeating that #MinimumWage is #provincial jurisdiction, but seeing how #conservatives in #ontario and #alberta are willingly surrendering and selling out to the problem, maybe its time for an adult conversation about this.
