Feeling pretty happy today - clock another riding milestone for the year. My best riding year so far was 2018 - I rode about 8200km. But 2023 YTD I've ridden just over 8000km. #YayMe #GetOnYourBike #RideForLife #RideWithFriends

#YayMe: I signed up for #Strava's January Cycling Distance Challenge, where the goal was to ride 1250km during the month.

I DID IT! (And I've still got 3 riding days left in the month - sweet!)

A cycling mate mentioned JackUltraCyclist / https://www.strava.com/athletes/486153 / https://www.instagram.com/jackultracyclist

His goal for 2022 was to ride with 1000000 metres of elevation. Yes, 1 *million* metres.

so it's fascinating to watch this #GCN interview with him

#BunchRide this morning was joined by a young'un (14ish) in our 29km/h avg group. He comes along during hols, not term time. At post-ride coffee another rider expressed dissatisfaction with kid on the front (we rotate). Why? HE'S NOT ENOUGH OF A WIND BREAK 😆 for the rest of us (all 10cm++ taller, and somewhat wider)

My 2022 in Cycling.

It's time to wrap up my year in cycling. I've ridden 4709km which is less than my goal of 6500km, but considering my mental and physical health this year, I'm pretty happy with it. 302km for this wee

/devices/pseudo/bitbucket@0,0:pseudo

so .... I've done 302km since the previous post (ie, just this week). I'm 25km short of 1200km for the month, but it's likely-early-riser #Child1's bday tomorrow, my legs are a little sore and I think I've got a saddle sore on a very inconvenient part of my glute. So I probably won't hit 1200km - and that is ok.

Arrabri to Mt Ommaney https://www.strava.com/segments/642453 was 2m26s because I was keeping my reserves but wanted to get another hill in, and Mt Ommaney Hill https://www.strava.com/segments/1353283 was 5m24 having done all the rest of the route. In Feb 2022 that segment took me 5m59s.

#TFW you realise that you haven't had the LBS service your bike in a little over 2 years.

ALSO #TFW when you check #Strava and realise you've done more than 7000km since the last service.

ALSO ALSO #TFW the next available service date is 10 Jan and you realise you'll likely ride another 600km before then.
