That doesn't mean they are bad - far from it.

I just use #Dayon because it's very easy to walkthrough #TechIlliterates when it comes to getting #RemoteSupport up and running with them.

@prem_k @silentexception Well, #FLOSS does not require that they need to make it simple for one to do so.

Both #grsecurity & #RedHad comply to #GPLv2 by merely providing #paywalled access to their repos.

They don't need to provide instructions to make reproduceable builds nor documentation nor resources to do so!

Does anyone have hard facts on what % diff the #RedHad base OS diff is from upstream?

To take steps to discourage testing upstream in the name of violations by downstream suggests someone is failing to grasp how the ecosystem works.

Камушек для новичков очередной нашёл.

В файле настроек сетевого интерфейса надо прописывать PERSISTENT_DHCLIENT="yes" чтоб dhclient автоматически обновлял аренду IP-адреса, когда тот истекает. Без него он запрашивает IP-адрес один раз, при поднятии интерфейса. А потом висит в таблице процессов с параметром "-1" (try to get a lease once) и ничего не делает.

Со стороны это будет выглядеть: интерфейс работает-работает, а потом через некоторое время тишина, пакеты уходят, но ответы не приходят. При этом всё поднято, и настройки везде прописаны верно. Ничего не изменилось.

Можно перезапустить (переподнять) интерфейс и связь опять заработает. Но через какое-то время опять всё "сдохнет".

Это актуально, когда NetworkManager не используется и настройки прописываются в файлах /sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*.
