Waveshare’s CM5-based mini PC has an M.2 slot, dual Ethernet ports, and HDMI output

Waveshare is a company that gives its products descriptive names, not brief ones. So the full name of the company’s new mini PC kit is longer than the headline for this article. But in a nutshell, the new Waveshare CM5-DUAL-ETH-BOX-B is a carrier board and an aluminum case for a Raspberry Pi Compute Module that lets you turn the tiny module into a pretty versatile little computer.

Among other […]

Lilbits: Zinwa’s Android-powered BlackBerry Key2 clone, Razer’s laptop sleeve with wireless charging, and Android 17 Beta 2

A small Chinese team called Zinwa have been making modern BlackBerry-style smartphones in small batches for a little while… first by literally stuffing the actual shells of old BlackBerry phones with modern motherboards running Android software, and more recently by developing new phones with designs that are heavily influenced by BlackBerry.

Now Zinwa has shared a teaser for an upcoming […]

The Argon40 ONE UP is a modular laptop powered by a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, and according to this review, it's pretty good at what it does. But due to rising component prices you can get a much faster laptop with an Intel or AMD chip for less money. https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2026/the-first-good-raspberry-pi-laptop/#fn:1 #Argon40OneUp #Argon40 #RaspberryPi #RaspberryPiCM5 #JeffGeerling
The first good Raspberry Pi Laptop

Ever since the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 was introduced, I wondered why nobody built a decent laptop chassis around it. You could swap out a low spec CM5 for a higher spec, and get an instant computer upgrade. Or, assuming a CM6 comes out someday in the same form factor, the laptop chassis could get an entirely new life with that upgrade.

Raspberry Pi CM5-powered Argon One laptop is now shipping to Kickstarter backers

The Argon ONE UP is a modular laptop with a 14 inch FHD+ display, a 55 Wh battery, and an M.2 slot for an SSD. What makes the Argon ONE UP unlike most laptops though is that it has a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 for brains.

Argon Forty launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Argon ONE UP last summer, and now the company has begun shipping the laptop to backers. Folks who missed […]

Lilbits: Google breathes (a little) more life into the Pixel Tablet

The Google Pixel Tablet launched in mid-2023 as an Android tablet that you could also use as a smart display when paired with a speaker dock. With an 11 inch, 2.5K display, stylus support, and the same Google Tensor G2 processor used in the Pixel 7 smartphone lineup, it could have paved the way for things to come.

But Google hasn’t released a new model in more than two and a half years. And […]

Sentinal Core is a mini ITX I/O board for the Raspberry Pi CM5 (crowdfunding)

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 is tiny computer on a module with a quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor and up to 16GB of LPDDR4 memory, 64GB of eMMC storage, and optional support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, plus plenty of I/O capabilities. But it doesn’t actually have any full-sized ports, and needs to be plugged into a carrier board for actual use.

While there’s no shortage of boards […]
