Our #voting system is broken. Even if all citizens could easily #vote (without the Right's many #VoterSuppression tactics) and meaningfully choose their representatives rather than vice versa (#gerrymandering), there's another fundamental problem:

We're required to choose JUST ONE candidate, and don't get to put anything on the ballot about how great or terrible the others are.

(Much better: #RangeVoting a.k.a. #ScoreVoting. You give every candidate a rating. Highest average wins.

More expressive than ranked choice / IRV; more incentive to vote honestly.)

In our current broken system, anything other than voting for the #Democratic ticket is effectively a vote for the #Republican menace.

@evantd Good idea in principle, but there are even better (and simpler) voting systems than IRV/STV that may have better chances of getting implemented in the short term, e.g., #ApprovalVoting, which could later be advanced to #ScoreVoting (aka #RangeVoting). If one wants to protect #minorities from being ignored completely by a #majority, then of course something even more advanced is needed...
