This circa 1680 AD #Deccan #Painting from a Illustration to a #Ragamala (literally: String of Verses) series of Todi #Ragini from the collection of Betsy Salinger was on Sotheby's sale of 26th October 2022, estimated £15,000 - £20,000.
#Ragmala are #Musical Notes and uniquely in India, such Notes are depicted as #Paintings
Like, Todi Raga, one of the almost 100 verses, a Lady is portrayed playing #Music (a Todi Raga) to Blackbucks.
