It was originally referred to as the “Gallant Olde Party” in the Congressional Record to invoke the pride and bravery demonstrated by #RadicalRepublicans in the victory of the Union against the seditious Confederacy.

The gallantry was replace with tenure as it morphed into “Grand Old Party.”

We could all use some radical gallantry.
