I'm especially curious to see if there are studies documenting the reception of English discourse (i.e. the representation of the Irish as barbaric people to be colonized/subdued) elsewhere in early modern Europe

I'm Ariela, and I'm a graduate student at the Institute of Fine Art at New York University studying #medieval and #Renaissance #art history. Part of #medievodons, #bookhistodons, and #histodons. I'm currently working on the performative uses of crucifixes with moving limbs as props in Passion Plays in #Italy. I'm also interested in questions of premodern race (#RaceB4Race) and cultural difference with respect to these performances.
