Turns out, old #DanteController 4.8.1.2 for #Audinate #Dante #AudioOverIP can be installed directly in #Wine / #Linux even.

However, it doesn't work, it can't see the Dante devices in my network.

So, I'm stuck with #Windows10 in #Virtualbox for which that old version still works. Until you resize the VirtualBox window while running Dante Controller, because then you have to push the reset button of that virtual machine…

Today, #Linux is making me have me a bad day again. No, actually not true. #Audinate is to blame. Their #DanteController software for their #Dante #AudioOverIP does not come as a Linux version. It also does not work in #Wine. And recently, it has stopped working properly in #Windows10 in #Virtualbox. It just crashes.

Dante Controller is a Java application, but not platform independent. They don't want to, the folks at Audinate.

So whenever there is something Dante going on in #EventTech, I need to bring a separate laptop with me.

Fun fact is: If software is not available for Linux, people always blame Linux. Never the manufacturer of that software.

Nobody blames Google if there is an app only available for IOS, but not for Android.

EDIT: My own NextCloud now saved me with an old Dante Controller 4.8.1.2 found in its "deleted files" compartment that doesn't seem to have the issue. (Screenshot below.)

There is no method for the federal government to remove provincial governments, even ones that use the Notwithstanding Clause to take rights from people, as Smith has.

Using the Notwithstanding Clause, that stupidly gives non existing powers to provincial governments, to give the federal government powers it does not have, to remove them, is a hilarious satire of the arrogant ugly Alberta Government of traitors.

Rad, thanks for the heads up on the multichannel card from them them - I bought a stereo card for my dad's birthday a few years ago, to upgrade a little pirate internet radio station I run for him. It works an absolute treat. Though now that I think about it there was a lot of confusion with the docs about setting vs versions, and it was a bunch of trial & error to get working with my setup, but flawless after.

Indeed the pro audio world has largely moved away from the simple multichannel analogue signals. Most are running various flavours of #AES, or #MADI or #Dante or others. The DSP side is a whole other beast, and admittedly outside my scope of expertise.

Looking ahead to February:
- Renewing past habits /goals. 3+ miles daily, continuing food patterns and logging, Bible, morning/evening prayer, etc. Same weight loss goal. Maybe I'll double it again like I did in January, but I don't want to consider it a miss if I don't.
- I started a weight lifting routine two weeks ago. Committing to continue with that. Feb is exactly 4 weeks, that's twelve lifting days.
- Restarting The Divine Comedy to complete it with my teen. Right now I'm loading the 100 Days of #Dante podcast to listen to during my Sunday morning walk.
- Joining a work related challenge for 100 straight days of learning/training. Hoping to make this a part of my daily routine and a third party challenge will be helpful.

Yo no.

El primer lugar parecía tranquilo.
Demasiado.

No gritaban.

No fuego.
No gritos.
Solo un lago inmóvil.
Almas congeladas junto a Lucifer.

@ve7fim It seems to be common lore among people working with #Dante that the ”dumber” the switches are the better: All kinds of traffic shaping tricks tend to wreak havoc on predictable packet latencies, but YMMV. #audioengineering
