Di tengah desakan banyak pihak untuk menunda pengesahan #RKUHP, beginilah yang dilakukan para "Yang Mulia", luar biasa.
Proses ini tidak ada bedanya dengan model pengesahan Omnibus Law. Dihasilkan dari pentas demokrasi semu yang meriah oleh hal prosedural, tapi tanpa hal substansial. Senyatanya, inilah warisan pemerintahan ini.
The DPR have passed the Criminal Code Legislation (RKUHP) into law. It’s a brave new (even more conservative) world for Indonesia.

Well, can’t say this part of the new criminal code won’t get widespread support. Indonesia has never been so conservative and religious as today. Anything to display a pious appearance will get support, anyone opposed will be branded anti religious.
Non marital sexual relations carry a penalty of up to one year in prison but may only be reported by close relatives such as parents if the couple is unmarried or legal spouse or children if they are.
Spokesperson for the Draft Criminal Code Albert Aries denies that anyone having sex outside of marriage will be charged because only direct relatives have the right to file a police report, not any member of the public.
However, legal advocate Frank Hutapea said, in practice the police may still detain, investigate, or question couples absent a formal report as these are not specifically stated as prohibited in the bill.
