Designed my first jumper and wanted to show it off! 🎉

I'm honestly so pleased with this! It's pretty simple looking, but the main thing for me when I started making it was that I wanted something I could knit in the round, and that could imitate the look of set-in sleeves without me actually having to do any sewing. I used German short rows to create the sleeves and I think the end result looks great - hopefully that comes through in the second photo!

I'm already working on a second one as there are definitely things I want to improve on - I think the ribbing and the collar join could be neater for a start, and I'd like fewer gaps in the under-arms. I'm also going to add something to the front of the next one using duplicate stitch, as I've never done that before and it looks fun!

But yeah, as first attempts go I'm really happy with this! 😊

Granny Hexagon cardigan, made in May last year. This was actually the first item of clothing I ever made that was bigger and more complex than a shawl; I used to get really bored with long projects and was super intimidated by things like guage and sizing. I'm still a bit confused by sizing to be honest (which I think is possibly dyspraxia related?) but since making this I've made two more cardigans and two jumpers so I guess I'm a long projects kind of person now. \o/

Pattern by Passionknit Kelsie on YouTube, which I highly recommend for anyone who is new to crochet and wants to try making a cardigan for the first time - it's really well explained and easy to get the hang of!

I made this all the way back in like June, and I think it's still one of my favourite makes - it brings me joy every time I look at my bedroom door!

The pattern/chart is by Indigochilduk, and I originally bought it because I wanted to give tapestry crochet a go. After spending a whole evening on it, I was still finding it super hard - mostly I was having difficulties figuring out how to coordinate my hands between multiple balls of yarn, and idk if that's because I probably have dyspraxia or if it's something everyone really struggles with when they're new to tapestry crochet?

In any case, at a certain point I realised I wasn't actually enjoying myself anymore so I stopped. But by that point I was REALLY hyped about the pattern so I decided to knit it instead!

Ended up doing it as a double knit - purely because I love the texture of double knits and hadn't made one in years!
