#PyCon2024 had 2,551 in-person attendees and was "sold out”

#PyCon2019 had 3,393 (Checked-in people).

Anyone know why the tickets were restricted to 1,234 fewer in 2024? The venue seemed massive so should have had room.

I'm genuinely curious what the difference was. 48% more seats in 2019 is a big difference.

I'm pretty keen to try his script out. Enjoyed this talk! 😁

The piece touches on so many of the themes that @[email protected] and others said at #pycon2019 this year.

Congrats to all my friends @[email protected] for the launch today! https://github.com/sponsors

Super timely with discussion like those from @[email protected]’s #PyCon2019 keynote about finding open source.

I’m excited to see how much funding the software we all rely on gets as a result of this.

I missed the talk at the conference, but I had some time to watch it on Friday. You should definitely take some time to learn about one of the weirdest things people have created for plenty of valid reasons and what you can do in Python to make working with them not a hellscape.
